15-5 is a precipitation hardened martensitic stainless steel alloy that is melted in AOD+VAR, AOD+ESR, or VIM+VAR melt type. This alloy is an improved version of 17-4 that offers better toughness. Because of its good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance this alloy is widely used in the aerospace industry for most fasteners and structural components. 15-5 PH Condition 1025 Heat Treat Per AMS 2759/3 My Customer material requirement was 15-5 PH per AMS 5759. An additional requirement was to heat treat to condition H1025 per AMS 2759. I purchased material from the Mill as Cond 1025H but was not certified to AMS2759 for the heat treat.
15-5 PH STAINLESS STEEL 15-5 PH stainless steel is a martensitic precipitation hardening type stainless steel. It possesses all the advantages of 17-4 PH, including single low-temperature thermal treatment. It also offers excellent transverse notch toughness/ductility and very good uniformity of properties. The mechanical properties in larger sections and forgeability are superior to that of [] 15-5 PH Stainless Steel - UNS S15500 Altemp Alloys, Inc.Altemp Alloys is a supplier of 15-5 PH stainless steel, a martensitic, precipitation hardening stainless steel. Alloy 15-5 is a precipitation hardening alloy exhibiting high strength and hardness with moderate corrosion resistance. Alloy 15-5 is a variant of the older 17-4 and 15-5 was designed to have greater toughness than S17400, especially in the through-thickness (short transverse) direction. Alloy 15-5 is used in applications that require high transverse strength and toughness such as engine parts Alloy 15-5PH plate, strip, wire rods, bar, wireAlloy 15-5PH plate, strip, wire rods, bar, wire 15-5 PH Stainless Steel is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel that provides an outstanding combination of high strength, good corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties at temperatures up to 600 °F (316 °C) and good toughness in both the longitudinal and transverse Alloy 17-4 PH Precipitation Hardening - Sandmeyer SteelGeneral Properties. Alloy 17-4PH (UNS S17400), Type 630, is a chromium-nickel-copper precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel with an addition of niobium. 17-4PH combines high strength and hardness with good corrosion resistance.
